“It was allllll…..bullshit.” That is the line of the day during Trump’s triumphant victory lap today.
Things got started this morning at the National Prayer Breakfast. In his first public appearance since he was acquitted by his fellow republican Senators in his impeachment trial, Trump proudly held up a copy of USA Today’s paper, with the front page reading “Acquitted”.
Hilariously, his arch nemesis, Nancy Pelosi, was sitting just a few seats away. Smugness level at an all time high. And why not, after a huge victory that was handed to him.
Not stopping there, Trump went on to take another, not-so-subtle swipe at Pelosi and others, when he was quoted to say, “I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong, nor do I like people who say ‘I pray for you’ when you know that is not so.” That was in reference to Pelosi publicly saying that she prays for the President during the impeachment process.

Trump continued his victory lap with a scorched-earthed speech taking swipes at all of his “enemies” that contributed to his impeachment. That included Pelosi, Romney, Mueller, Comey, FBI officials Lisa Page and Peter Strzok, and many more. Again, holding up more headlines of his acquittal.
This is a significant blow to the Democrats who are now left reeling. The debacle of the Iowa caucus and no unification around a Democratic nominee in the near future has the Democrats in disarray. Meanwhile, Republicans appear more unified than ever.
An ultimate backfire seems too premature, but this impeachment may have only made Trump stronger and potentially unbeatable come November.
