Democrats have made a grave mistake with their move to open up an impeachment inquiring against Donald Trump.
This path chosen by democrats never had a chance and certainly will not lead to a happy ending.
For impeachment to truly work there needs to be unity among the parties and the voting public on the issue at hand.
That will never happen today because we no longer have two political parties in this country, we have two cults. And cults NEVER turn on their leadership.
The Mueller report laid out 11 clear instances of obstruction of justice by the president – no one cares.
Trump blatantly lied about hush money payments just prior to the 2016 election – no one cares.
Trump blatantly lied about the Trump Tower meeting and his hand in helping his son, Don Jr., craft a response to the media about that meeting – no one cares.
Hillary Clinton blatantly lied about the Benghazi attack where a U.S Ambassador and several U.S. servicemen were killed – no one cares.
Hillary Clinton had personal email servers in her home and then destroyed evidence on them to cover up wrongdoing – no one cares.
During the 2016 presidential campaign Trump famously said that he could walk down the street and kill someone and he still would not lose any support. Those may be the most honest words to have ever come out of Trump’s mouth, because he likely could have walked down the street and killed someone, on live television even, and not lost a single vote from his supporters.
And the same goes for democrats.
There is nothing Hillary could have said or done that would have cost her the support of her base in 2016.
Nothing ever done by Barack Obama, including raising everyone’s health insurance premiums, cost him any support from his democratic base.
And this is why impeachment will not work now, and may never work again in our country.
No one on either side will ever change their support for their party leadership. Cults DO NOT turn on their leadership, ever.
So any impeachment conducted by either side will inevitably be viewed as a “partisan” issue.
Democrats, republicans and the nation as a whole were all behind the impeachment of Richard Nixon in the 1970s.
That would never happen today. There is absolutely zero chance Nixon would be impeached today or that the republican party of today would have turned on him. Absolutely zero chance.
The beginning of this shift could even be seen with the Clinton impeachment in the 1990s.
Clinton lied under oath. Clear as day. In fact, he even admitted to it. Republicans went on to impeach him, but democrats didn’t care. He was their leader and the democratic senate and voting base did not support impeachment at all.
What we have to understand is that the American voting public is no longer comprised of free thinking individuals that simply fall into one part or the other based on their own personal beliefs.
We are literally dealing with two cults right now. A democratic cult and a republican cult.
And there is absolutely no chance of either side straying from their unwavering support of their leaders.
Democrats made a very big mistake opening up an impeachment inquiry, because no matter what Trump has already done or may do in the future, he will not lose the support of his party or his voting base.
